Drawing
the figure is a foundation skill which has universal application in all
aspects of artistic communication. A figurative quality persists not
only in all living things, but its rhythm is apparent in all good
design. Thus, the principles involved in drawing the figure transcends
merely drawing human form, but extends into enabling the artist to draw
a variety of subject matter using any instrument of drawing, whether it
is graphite pencil, charcoal, paint, or computer software.
