Dear Friends &
Family,
For those of you who
do not know that this was written by my niece about my brother Albert.
I too was only a child when he went to the navy in WW II, but he was a
very special man and brother, and I love and remember him especially on
May 18th.
Thanks to Donna for
the remembrance!
Love Grace

I am PROUD to pass this on.
My dad, Albert Anthony Dryovage, was killed on May 18th, 1945 near
Okinawa while serving in the Navy when I was only two years old.
I never got to know him, yet he sent letters to my Mother, which
she kept and gave to me, and through them, I know how much he loved
her and me. He even sent me a letter, to be opened on my 16th
birthday, in case he didn't make it, telling me how much he loved me.
My dad was a GOOD man -- all his shipmates told me how much he loved
us, and how well he got along with everyone. They told me
everyone liked him.
He was a family loving, God-fearing, brave man who gave his life so
that we could enjoy the freedom we have today. Please say a
prayer for him and all those who died in all our wars, and that the
men and women who are out there fighting for us now, to come home
safely to their families.
My life was forever changed when my Dad died. I still miss him.
My children and I never had the love or wisdom of their Grandfather.
Please remember him in your prayers.
Love,
Donna
